“Will more and more CHROs become CEOs in the coming years?”
Gaurabh, our co-founder and Chief Product Officer, envisioned this to be the future some years ago.
And looks like he was right!
At the Leaders Lounge conference in New York this past week (which was attended by our co-founders, Gaurabh Mathure and Kiran Menon), one of the hottest topics for discussion was this 👆.
Conversations and debates on CHROs being the successors to the CEO’s post are on fire right now and we think it is a very positive and strong sign.
We’re (super)excited to see what happens on this front in the coming decade and who will join the ranks of Mary Barra, Bernard Fontana, Amit Malik, and more recently, Leena Nair.
On that note, let’s dive right into what’s been trending in our mutual space of interest in the last 30 days.
Riding on the sense of purpose that people are more actively seeking from their work in the wake of the pandemic, the White House is opening up a plethora of tech job opportunities to enhance the government platforms’ online experiences.
A technologist working for the government’s Veteran Affairs said this: “I just spent three years optimizing a shopping cart. And today what I coded actually helped somebody.”
Don’t we all want that? To see our efforts creating such an impact.
Not a lot of people have actually thought about the cost of a poor onboarding experience. But there's a lot more to it than offer drops or first-year attrition. The numbers are so appalling that many organizations have actively made personalized onboarding experiences a top business priority.
If you are looking to convince your management with the right business case to step up your onboarding experience, you’ve got one right here.

The pandemic has changed the working dynamics between organizations and their employees. And if what this means for your company, or if you are generally interested in the future of work, then you must follow Thomas Kochan, a professor at MIT Sloan School of Management’s Institute for Work and Employment Research.
Kochan says the new social contract expects “both parties (employees and employers) to be accountable for meeting each other’s expectations…for a workplace that values democracy, values productivity, and values worker respect.”
For countries dependent on tourism for economic growth and for remote workers bitten by the travel bug, the time is just perfect. Estonia, Bermuda, Costa Rica, and the likes are removing immigration, paperwork, and tax barriers, and encouraging people to work remotely from their picturesque locales. We wonder, maybe our next newsletter will be sent to you from the cloud forests of Monteverde!
